“Art completes what nature cannot bring to finish.” – Aristotle
My name is Don Kunkel, like most artists, creating artwork has always been a top priority in my life. I fell into the childhood cliché of drawing anywhere I could even if it meant getting into trouble. The difference between then and now is that I have made my favorite thing to do my career. I tend to lean towards sequential art, drawing and inking comic books has always been my passion. However, I enjoy and do more illustration, logo design, all around freelance graphics.
Now, for schooling I’ve gone to technical art schools such as the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. and Gibbs College. My published works include my character The Vigilante Granny Vs. The Bald Avenger, Evil Robo Presents Issue # 0 and Issue #1 with stories such as Zombie of the Month, The Downfall of Hearth and Home, and Swimming with Razors. My comic book influences is too many to list but, ones that stand out in my mind are : Mike Allred, Toby Cypress, Charles Burns, and a plethora of classic “B” - movies such as Piranha, Man with Two Brains, and Night of the Living Dead. |
